KRAV MAGA
What is Krav Maga?
Krav Maga is composed of three pillars: self defence, fighting and the protection of other people, such as a family member, friend or colleague. Krav Maga training is both practical and realistic, building upon the natural reactions of the human body which occur when presented with an unexpected situation of conflict. Krav Maga teaches you how to avoid, prevent, deter, or deal with all types of violent confrontations.
Instead of learning abstract forms or long sequences, you’ll train practical techniques like how to escape grabs, defend against strikes, break holds, and stay on your feet when things get chaotic. You’ll also learn how to deal with multiple attackers, weapons threats, and confrontations that go to the ground.
Every technique is based on natural, instinctive movements — so you don’t need any prior martial arts experience to get started. Krav Maga is built to work under stress, not in theory.
At Stronghold Academy, we teach Krav Maga with real-world application. It’s intense, empowering, and yes — a serious workout.
What Are the Benefits of Krav Maga?
Aside from learning how to handle yourself in high-stress situations, Krav Maga gives you a huge range of physical and mental benefits:
● Real-World Self-Defence: Learn how to stay safe in the kinds of situations no one wants to be in — but everyone should be prepared for.
● Functional Fitness: Expect to improve your strength, speed, balance, and reaction time. It’s like hitting the gym and a fight camp in one.
● Confidence That Lasts: Nothing builds confidence like knowing you can handle yourself. Krav Maga will change how you walk into a room.
● Mental Toughness: You’ll learn to manage stress, stay calm under pressure, and push your limits — skills that translate far beyond the mat.
● Community: Train with people who are supportive, focused, and here to grow. No egos, just good vibes and hard work.
Who Is Krav Maga For?
Everyone.
Seriously — Krav Maga is designed to be adaptable, not elitist. Whether you’re a complete beginner, a fitness junkie, or someone who just wants to feel safer walking home at night, this training is for you.
We train:
● Men and women of all ages
● Working professionals who want practical skills
● Parents, students, first responders
● People who’ve never thrown a punch in their life
You don’t need to be “in shape” to start — Krav Maga helps you get there. We’ll meet you where you’re at.
What Should I Bring to My First Class?
Your first class is all about learning the basics and getting comfortable — no pressure to “keep up” or know what you’re doing.
Bring:
● Comfortable workout clothes (you’ll be moving, sweating, and on the ground)
● A full water bottle
● An open mind and willingness to try something new
We’ll provide any necessary equipment (like focus pads, gloves, etc.) for your first few classes. If you decide to continue training regularly, we can help you get kitted out.
What Can I Expect in Class?
Each class is around 60 minutes and typically includes:
- Warm-Up & Drills – Get the blood moving, work on movement and coordination.
- Technical Breakdown – Learn and practice a real Krav Maga technique (e.g. defending a choke, disarming a weapon, counter-attacks).
- Scenario Training – Apply what you’ve learned under pressure, with intensity — but always safely.
- Conditioning Finisher – Short, sharp conditioning to build the kind of strength Krav Maga requires.
No two classes are exactly the same — but you’ll leave every class feeling stronger, sharper, and more capable.
